Lily's 1st Beach Trip

Wow does it take alot of packing and bags for one day trip to the beach. I had 5 bags of stuff all necessary and were used.

Bag 1) Car Toys-Lily does not like long trips in the car so I packed some different than usual toys.  This bag lasted about 3/4ths of the trip and the rest of the way to beach Lily flipped out-fun!

Bag 2) Lily's bathing suit, water diapers, beach shoes and beach toys-I had Lily in normal clothes and diapers on the way to the beach. I did not want to test those water diapers which just pull on and I didn't want her to be uncomfortable on the drive wearing a bathing suit.

Bag 3) Lily's Diaper Bag-with the obvious stuff including snacks and water for her

Bag 4) Other beach necessities- suntan lotion, beach umbrella, towels, etc

Bag 5) Our after beach change of clothes and towels to dry off

All of my preparation made for a smooth trip to the beach! Considering we are 1st time parent's with a toddler and haven't been to the beach in years it could have gone very differently. 

One of the reasons I have declared this trip a success is because we left without any sunburns.  Mainly because Lily and I were slathered in sunscreen. In fact all the sand stuck to her body in the following pictures has nothing to do with water it's all due to the sunscreen.  I brought a hat because I was worried about her scalp since she doesn't have that much hair but she would have nothing to do with it.

Lily LOVED the sand!  All Kirk wanted to do was bury Lily in the sand so he got to work on his hole as soon we got there.

While I went to get a diaper Kirk undressed Lily and would not let her sit down. 

We also played with bubbles on the beach

After we left the beach we spent some time on the strand.  Since this was a special day I let Lily do something I never let her do, share my milkshake. This child doesn't even drink juice so needless to say she was very excited.

We had a wonderful day and Kirk is already looking it another day trip to the beach!
