5 Months!

Time sure does fly.  Lily is now 5 months old. 5 months can you believe it?

She is an incredible, sweet, smart baby if I may say so myself.

She wont have another official weight and height check until 6 month check up but we did have to take her to the doctor early this month for croup cough and at that time she weighed 12 lbs 5 ounces. 

She might be tiny but her drool is anything but. She loves to put her hands in her mouth and her feet our still her favorite toy. We did get some play gyms and she loves to play on the floor with them.  She is rolling both from her stomach to back and from her back to her stomach.

  More amazing is how she can turn herself 360 degrees.  This extra mobility scares me at night as I am always finding her in the strangest positions. Lily is very easy to put to sleep.  You just swaddle, lay her down, give her the pacifier and presto a sleeping baby. The sad part is her routine has made it to where she no longer falls asleep in my arms.  She is still not sleep through the nights but she doesn't really eat during the night either.  You just have to re-swaddle her and shes back to sleep.  In all fairness she will sleep 8 hours straight but when she goes to sleep at 730pm that has her up way earlier than we are ready for.

Eating wise Lily is up to 5 ounces every 2-3 hours.  Aside from cereal she has eaten bananas, apples, pears, and sweet potatoes. She was not a fan of pears or sweet potatoes.  Just this week she had a her 1st day of having nothing but formula.  It makes me sad but I am glad that she was able to go this long on breast milk.  Now, she just has to get used to the iron in formula so her tummy will stop hurting.

Lily is actively playing with toys and entertains herself now which is great.  But best of all she is "giving" kisses.  She will lean, grab my cheeks with her hands and open her mouth to give me and Kirk a kiss.  I think when she opens her mouth she thinks she is puckering her lips.

Her 5th month has been a wonderful month filled with so much development.  Can't wait to see what next month brings.
